We're bringing AI to our Virtual Earth Observation Constellations

Geocento is excited to announce that we have received support from the UK Space Agency and ESA to integrate AI capabilities into our virtual earth observation constellation management platforms. Over the next year, we will be working with our clients and partners to validate and demonstrate these capabilities.
The main drivers for this development are as follows:
Earth observation data providers are rapidly advancing independent AI capabilities - from onboard processing to targeted analytical tools. A key objective of this project is to enable virtual constellation management to provide users with access to these diverse developments in a harmonised and unified manner.
Another key objective of this project is to evaluate how AI capabilities within virtual constellation management can assist users in optimising complex tasking and requests, enhancing overall operational responsiveness and productivity.
As we move forward, two considerations stand out. First, AI is likely to create greater diversity in capabilities across earth observation providers, making it increasingly important to provide users with unified access to these innovations. Second, there is a risk that technology development moves faster than user engagement, making trust, transparency, and user-led design more important than ever.
These principles will be key factors in the design of the next generation of our virtual constellation management services - both Lyra (our white label platform) and Pyxis (our managed service).
